As the market changes, you have to continue move and change with it. Sudden changes in Facebook and Google + keep you on your toes. Your clients expectation of you knowing and understand changes in the search market pushes you. Sometimes, we all need to breathe and really want things to slow; but who wants to stop movement. It’s our responsibility to grow and provide the service that our clients expect on a daily basis. What are your steps to making it a success? I have a few ideas to help me get through the stressful weeks and months.

1. Breathe: As you’re staring a hole through the monitor

Take a break and gather your thoughts. We tend to become robots and the same old routine does not work in this ever-changing online market. Sometimes I get a little frustrated because no one method works the same for all clients. We have to realize that all businesses are not the same. So I tend to take a brisk walk to re-focus and that creates excitement to be more creative for the client.

2. Read: Even when we don’t always have the time

We need to take a few moments out our day to be proactive and know what is going on in the market. It changes quickly and we need to be preparing to change with it or your business is not going to be successful. I tend to schedule an hour a day just for reading. Most people get bored with the influx of information that tends to be forced down our throats so be selective.

3. Sign up for something: I’m always looking for good webnairs or blogs

This is free information that helps to create new ideas. Sometimes it can be rather overloading, but once in a while there is someone that brings up an issue that can be used for a client. We all love to share ideas and it’s exciting to find new marketing techniques that keep you on track for success.

4. Have Passion: I love my job

I have always loved this work but it can be a challenge. But who doesn’t love a challenge? Taking something from nothing and watching it be successful is the most rewarding job. I’ve seen so many changes over the year and how the online market has evolved.

5. Thank you: Appreciate your business

Finding the time to simply mail a “thank you” card to your clients. Simply mailing a hand-written note shows that you took the time to write. Even when technology is fast, a written note is a personal way to let the client know that I truly appreciate the business.

Changes are always going to happen and in this business it has to evolve. The market continues to move and we strive to move along with it. But taking time to re-focus keeps us on our toes.

A simple way to publish your blog, and connect with Facebook fans, is to add the Networked Blogs application. It is a great way to re-publish your information easily and move content out for new and existing readers.  After you sign the blog up with Networked Blogs and setup the account, all new postings from your blog will now display automatically on your Facebook page. This is a great to tool for building referrals from Facebook to the your business website.

Since Facebook has updated the tabs on fan pages, getting it to display on the left navigation takes you a moment to figure out. One suggestion is to add it to the apps area. However, this does not display as an option for administrators anymore. Add the “Networked Blogs” app as a page to the Facebook page you administer and it displays on the left side navigation.  Remember you have to be signed in as the admin for the fanpage to allow you to add Networked Blogs.  Have a little patience and you can soon have your feeds re-published on Facebook.
